Short-term mission trips have exploded in the last 20 years. Today, most local churches have taken a group to a different country. A recent survey to subscribers of LEADERSHIP Journal and BuildingChurchLeaders.com found 68 percent have been on a short-term mission trip, and 60 percent of those people have led a trip. In all, approximately two million Americans from 40,000 churches embark on a short term mission trip each year.
